Apparently, the Costa Rican government needs the help of a handful of economic students in order to prepare their economy for CAFTA and advice on how to dismantle the existing monopolies. I was fortunate enough to be included in that group and find it to be a great opportunity to get Austrian monopoly price theory some coverage. Either way, I am going to have to write up a fairly long analysis with three other peers with respect to the effects of eliminating the current government monopolies in utility services.
